Examination for confirmation of GSTPs to be conducted by NACIN on 31.10 2018

GST Practitioner Test

The National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN) has been authorized to conduct an examination for confirmation of enrollment of Goods and Services Tax Practitioners (GSTPs) in terms of the sub-rule (3) of rule 83 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017, vide Notification No. 24/2018-Central Tax dated 28.5.2018.

Eligibility

The GSTPs enrolled on the GST Network under sub-rule (2) of Rule 83 and covered by clause (b) of sub-rule (1) of Rule 83, i.e. those meeting the eligibility criteria of having enrolled as sales tax practitioners or tax return preparer under the existing law for a period not less than five years, are required to pass the said examination before 31.12.2018 in terms of second proviso to rule 83(3).

Exam Date

The examination for such GSTP’s shall be conducted on 31.10.2018 from 11:00 hrs to 13:30 hrs at designated examination centers across India.

Registration

It will be a Computer Based Exam. The registration for this exam can be done by the eligible GSTPs on a registration portal, link of which (https://nacin.onlineregistrationform.org/) will also be provided on NACIN and CBIC websites. The registration portal will be activated on 25th September, 2018 and will remain open up to 10th Oct 2018.

For convenience of candidates, a help desk will also be set up, details of which will be made available on the registration portal.

Fee

The applicants are required to make online payment of examination fee of Rs. 500/- at the time of registration for this exam.

Pattern of the Examination

PAPER: GST Law & Procedures:

Time allowed: 2 hours and 30 minutes

Number of Multiple Choice Questions: 100

Language of Questions: English and Hindi

Maximum marks: 200

Qualifying marks: 100

No negative marking

NEW DELHI: The government prohibited the manufacture, sale and distribution of 328 Fixed Dose Combination (FDC) drugs for human use with immediate effect on Wednesday and also restricted the manufacture, sale or distribution of six FDC’s subject to certain condation. Several popular drugs including painkillers combinations such as Saridon.

It has also restricted the manufacture, sale or distribution of six FDCs subject to certain conditions.

What is FDC Drug?

Two or more drugs contained in a single dosage form, such as a capsule or tablet. An example of a fixed-dose combination (FDC) HIV drug is Atripla (a combination of efavirenz, emtricitabine, and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate). By reducing the number of pills a person must take each day, fixed-dose combination drugs can help.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday (1-sep-2018) launched the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) in New Delhi, saying that it would help deliver banking services conveniently to people living in the remotest places across the country.

He described the India Post Payments Bank, which has branches in 650 districts, as one more step to achieving financial inclusion, following in the footsteps of the Jan Dhan Yojana.

Media reports also suggest that the Union Cabinet has approved a spending budget of Rs 14.35 billion on IPPB for it to fight against competition (Paytm Payments Bank and Airtel Payments Bank). The IPPB’s website says that pilots started in Jharkhand (Ranchi) and Chhattisgarh (Raipur) in January this year.

IPPB will allow both Current and Savings accounts.

NEET UG 2019: Giving a major relief to the students, Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar Saturday last week announced that the JEE (Main) and NEET will now be conducted twice a year. The NTA will also conduct the National Eligibility Test (NET). All these tests were earlier organized by the CBSE.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (Main), for undergraduate admission into various engineering colleges, will be held in January and April.
